Erklärung des Präsidiums der Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Sportpsychologie (asp) zur Einhaltung wissenschaftlicher Grundsätze
Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Sportpsychologie (asp) bekennt sich zu dem Ideal einer transparenten Wissenschaft. Sie unterstützt als wissenschaftlich ausgerichtete Arbeitsgemeinschaft Open Science und Open Access Initiativen.
Die asp bekennt sich zu den wissenschaftlichen Grundsätzen (1) der Exzellenz, (2) der Relevanz, (3) der Evidenzbasierung, (4) der gesellschaftlichen bzw. ethischen Verantwortung, (5) der Korrigierbarkeit, (6) der Transparenz und (7) der Offenheit in der (sport-)psychologischen Forschung. Insbesondere die beiden letzten Grundsätze, Transparenz und Offenheit, sind angesichts der jüngeren Debatten um die Replizierbarkeit (sport-)psychologischer Befunde von besonderer Bedeutsamkeit. Gleichzeitig tragen jüngere Entwicklungen im Bereich des Publizierens wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisse (bspw. Prä-Registrierungen, Daten-Repositorien) dazu bei, den Grundsätzen der Transparenz und Offenheit in verantwortungsvoller und unkomplizierter Weise gerecht zu werden.
Die Arbeit der asp zielt darauf ab, Strukturen zu schaffen und zu erhalten, die auf den oben genannten Grundsätzen basieren. Diese Strukturen sollen Anreize für die Umsetzung dieser Grundsätze bieten und Verstöße dagegen angemessen ahnden.
Dies bedeutet unter anderem:
The asp works towards ensuring that students and early career researchers learn early and comprehensively how to work scientifically according to these principles.
Measure: asp promotes the integration of open science practices in the training of students and young scientists so that they understand and practise a clear separation between hypothesis generation and data analysis. This improves the transparency and reproducibility of study results. The asp is also committed to establishing open educational resources.
The asp contributes to the development and implementation of standards of good scientific practice and creates opportunities to continuously reflect on and optimise these standards.
Action: The asp is in favour of the development and implementation of guidelines for the disclosure of potential conflicts of interest and other ethical aspects in order to maintain the integrity of research and strengthen trust in the scientific community. The asp creates opportunities for exchange and collaboration between researchers in the field of open science, for example by organising seminars, conferences, discussion forums or online communities.
The asp helps to publicise scientific (sport) psychological findings and thus to highlight the relevance of our discipline in answering socially relevant questions both internally and externally.
Measure: asp advocates the development and implementation of training programmes for researchers that raise awareness of the importance of openness and transparency in research and convey how science can be designed and communicated more openly. It actively supports its members in further education and training programmes. In this context, asp is aware of its particular responsibility when dealing with small numbers of cases and sensitive data.
The asp welcomes the many current initiatives to ensure and improve transparency and openness in research (e.g. the initiatives of the Center for Open Science) and supports initiatives that improve the quality of scientific (sports) research.
Measure: The asp works actively with other scientific organisations to develop and disseminate standards and guidelines for the promotion of openness and transparency in research and to promote the implementation of these standards at national and international level (e.g. membership of the dvs ad hoc committee "Research Data Management"). The Journal of Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology as the central publication organ of asp already follows the principles of open science.
