Special Interest Group (SIG) Open Science of the Working Group for Sports Psychology (asp)
The initiative to establish a SIG Open Science was set during the asp members' meeting in 2022 in Stuttgart. The SIG is to be understood as an open interest group that deals with the topic of Open Science and promotes the integration of Open Science practices into research practices. It serves as a platform for scientific exchange and active participation from members of the sports psychology community. Activities of the SIG may include, for example, the development of specific recommendations for action, the organization of workshops, or advisory activities.
Interested asp members can join at any time via email to the elected Vice President for "Research and International Affairs" (2022-2025: Prof. Dr. Chris Englert, englertsport.uni-frankfurt.de).
Goals of the SIG
- Raising awareness and sensitivity regarding the topic of Open Science
- Promoting open and transparent research practices
- Reviewing and/or developing guidelines for the integration of Open Science practices into sports psychology research
- Developing concepts for integrating Open Science practices into teaching
- Providing platforms for networking and exchanging experiences on the topic
- Regular assessments of the development of Open Science practices in German-speaking sports psychology research
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with other scientific disciplines
- Acknowledging and emphasizing the importance of both direct and indirect contributions to scientific knowledge
