Teaching & Teaching Quality
In the training of future sports psychologists (research and practice), topics related to methodological-didactic approaches and teaching methods are not explicitly included (in the form of tailored workshops, working groups, or other formats).
At the annual asp conferences, there will be a forum for exchange (working groups, special workshops, etc.) and an online exchange with a corresponding group of interested individuals about sports psychology teaching in (teacher training) degree programs at universities six months later; this includes an opportunity for in-depth discussions on relevant sports psychology topics, studies, examination literature, methods, seminar ideas, etc. Information about the exchange forum during the asp conference and digitally six months later will be announced here on the website.
Looking ahead: Within the asp, there is little exchange regarding our contribution to the training of future teachers, trainers, and other groups; here, an exchange about methodological-didactic approaches could also be useful
Looking ahead: Within the asp, there are few to no workshops or training sessions on didactically sound teaching of sports psychology topics aimed at individuals in the qualification phase or in training to become certified asp experts.
The planning for the coming years is as follows:
asp conferences
- (sustainable) implementation of an annual exchange taking place at the asp conferences and digitally six months later (workshop, working group, interactive exchange session) on sports psychology in teaching
- Target group: all interested individuals
- Workshop on methodological-didactic approaches, teaching ideas, best practice examples; examination matters (oral, written) – designing exam questions, structure of an oral exam, questions in exams with different levels of difficulty
- Target group: young researchers, trainers
Looking ahead: Exchange about university sports psychology teaching also at the European/international level
